The Shaggy & Friends concert in benefit of the Bustamente Hospital for Children took place last weekend at the Lawns of Jamaica House. Flyer for the Shaggy & Friends charity concert in benefit of the Bustamente Hospital for Children's medical resources Double Dare to Care 2010The event started with an auction, after which Shaggy, Boyz II Men, Mario Winans, Joe, Machel Montano HD, Beenie Man, Baby Trish, Toots Hibbert, Ce’Cile, Alaine, Tessanne Chin, Mikal Rose, T.O.K., Sanchez, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Cham, Queen Ifrica, Chevaughn, Ding Dong, Ity & Fancy Cat, Dr Michael Abrahams, Blakka Ellis and many more were on stage. According to attendees, the concert was overall a huge success!

All proceeds of the concert will go to the Bustamente Hospital for Children, which is the only pediatric hospital in the West Indies. It lacks the resources to provide adequate care for sick children. By attending the hospital or contributing otherwise you can support this worthy cause! More info.

Shaggy & Friends concert
Here’s more info about the upcoming 2010 Shaggy & Friends concert! The concert is a huge event in benefit of the Bustamente Hospital for Children in Kingston, Jamaica, which is the only pediatric children’s hospital in the West Indies. Its facilities to provide adequate care for sick children are stretched to the limit due to a lack of resources. Although Shaggy has made significant contributions to the hospital over the years, the Bustamante Hospital for Children is still in need of assistance.

The Shaggy & Friends concert which will take place on the lawns of Jamaica House on January 2, will feature Shaggy with special guests Joe, Mario Winans, Boyz II Men, Mykal Rose, Beenie Man, Baby Cham, Queen Ifrica, Ding Dong, Toots Hibberts, Busy Signal, Tanya Stephens, T.O.K., Alaine, Ce’Cile, Machel Montano, Sanchez and many more!

The concert takes place on December 7, which is the first day of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP15. At the COP15, world leaders will meet to discuss how to respond to climate change. Chain of Hope charity
This week, medical volunteers from the Chain of Hope charity will perform heart surgeries for four days in the Bustamente Hospital in Jamaica on children who have had complex cardiac problems since they were born. Shaggy, who performed at the Chain of Hope fund raiser in the UK last week, spent last Sunday relaxing with the children and their parents ahead of the surgeries. That’s so nice! Strike 3 Foundation Gala pictures
Shaggy and Rayvon performed at the Strike 3 Foundation Second Annual First Pitch Celebrity Gala in benefit of pediatric cancer research and the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, Connecticut, last week. The official Strike 3 Foundation site now has photos of the benefit gala.

Possible upcoming tour (dates)?
Ali Campbell told The National in Abu Dhabi that he might go on a North American tour with Sean Paul, Sean Kingston and Shaggy! Article. At any rate, he’s going to perform at the Shaggy & Friends benefit concert on January 2. Shaggy might also perform at the One Love Reggae Series at the Negril Escape in Jamaica on February 23, but as far as known this isn’t out of negotiations yet.
