Shaggy wins three International Reggae And World Music Awards!
Congratulations to Shaggy! He won three International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) at Saturday’s IRAWMA 2011 ceremony. Shaggy was awarded the prestigious Bob Marley Award for Entertainer of the Year as well as the Marcus Garvey Humanitarian Award and the Community Service Award for his charity work with the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation benefiting the Bustamente Children’s Hospital! Tonight the prestigious 2011 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) will be held at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad! Shaggy, who is nominated for four awards, and Tony Rebel are going to host the event. Machel Montano HD, Queen Ifrica, Freddy McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man, Tifa, Dean Fraser, Macka Diamond, Denise Belfon and more will perform at the awards ceremony. Shaggy to be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame
Congratulations to Shaggy! Shaggy will be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame for his achievements and contributions to the growth of the reggae music industry both in Jamaica and abroad!
Shaggy will receive his induction in the Reggae Walk of Fame when he returns to Trelawny to perform at the official grand opening celebration of the new cruise ship port in Falmouth, Jamaica on March 22. The largest cruise ship of the world, The Oasis of the Seas, will call into Falmouth that day. Other inductees in the Reggae Walk of Fame include Yellowman, Culture, Toots Hibbert, Tony Rebel, Barrington Levy, Third World, Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, The I-Threes and Ky-Mani Marley.

Shaggy to Italy
It looks like Shaggy will perform in Italy this month!
Shaggy, Rayvon, Gibraltar Music (this is Shaggy’s tour manager Paul “Rossi” Lee, I guess, Shaggy started out as a dj on this sound system!), Golden Bass and High Grade will perform at the Demodè Disco Club in Bari on November 26.
Shaggy will play Teatro Palapartenope / Casa della Musica in Napoli, Italy on November 27, according to Go2 and Campania Tickets, as well as Rastasnob.
Shaggy, Rayvon, Golden Bass and the Groove Society Band will do a concert at the Leoncavallo in Milan on November 28.

The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert for the Bustamente Hospital for Children was a huge success! The number of people who came to view the show that took place on the lawn of Jamaica House on January 3 was very high. Artists who attended were among others Shaggy, Rik Rok, Rayvon, Na’Sha, Barrington Levy, Elephant Man, Macy Gray, D’Angel, Etana, Buju Banton, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Tony Rebel, Tarrus Riley, Sean Paul, Allison Hinds, Ce’Cile, Christopher Martin, Marcia Griffiths, Da’Ville, Milk, Usain Bolt, Ity and Fancy Cat, Dean Fraser, Morgan Heritage and Lady Saw. Jamaican prime minister Bruce Golding and opposition leader Portia Simpson Miller (she’s the former prime minister) also got on stage! Jamaica Star review. Shaggy is doing a beautiful thing for the Bustamente Hospital for Children in Kingston, Jamaica, and you can help! The Bustamente Hospital is the main pediatric hospital in the West Indies, which’ resources to treat children are stretched to the limit because of a lack of facilities. Expensive medical equipment and a lack of public and private funding counteract the hospital’s ability to provide the necessary health care required to treat each and every child.
Shaggy has been supporting the hospital for years and he now created the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation to help raise funds for the hospital to save many more children’s lives. You can read all about it on Shaggy’s official Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation site. It has information about how you can help and about Shaggy’s upcoming benefit concert. The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert, 1 ticket equals saving 1 life, will be held on Saturday January 3 2009 on the Jamaica House Lawn featuring
none other than Shaggy himself, Macy Gray, Buju Banton, Sean Paul, J. Holliday, Tony Rebel, Sean Kingston, Tarrus Riley, Luciano, Tesanna Chin, Da’Ville, Freddie McGregor, Etana, Allison Hinds, Elephant Man, Marcia Griffiths, Tyson Beckford and many more.
The gates open at 6 PM, the concert starts at 8 PM. Tickets are available at Susie’s Bakery, White Bone’s Restaurant and Music Mart at Twin Gates Plaza. All proceeds will be donated to the Bustamente Hospital for Children!

He announced his plans to stage a big benefit concert, to raise $2 million USD for the Bustamente Hospital for Children in Kingston, Jamaica. Shaggy will organize the concert on January 3 on the lawns of Jamaica House. The line-up hasn’t been announced yet, but according to Dancehall.mobi and the Jamaica Gleaner big artists will be there: among others J. Holliday, Macy Gray, Sean Kingston, Alric & Boyd and Tyson Beckford and of course Shaggy himself.
