Today: Reggae Meets Soca Chutney
The smooth melodies of Reggae, the sweet sounds of Soca and pulsating rhythms of Chutney will converge in the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain today at the Reggae Meets Soca Chutney Concert. The massive event labeled as ‘Super-Star Sunday’ follows on the heels of the 30th International Reggae and World Music Awards and will feature thrilling performances from several of the IRAWMA nominees and eventual winners, among whom Shaggy, Machel Montano, Beenie Man, Jah Cure and Gramps Morgan!

Tonight: Shaggy and Tony Rebel to host IRAWMA Awards!

Tonight: International Reggae and World Music Awards
Tonight the prestigious 2011 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) will be held at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad! Shaggy, who is nominated for four awards, and Tony Rebel are going to host the event. Machel Montano HD, Queen Ifrica, Freddy McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man, Tifa, Dean Fraser, Macka Diamond, Denise Belfon and more will perform at the awards ceremony. Shaggy to be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame & nominated for four IRAWMA Awards

Shaggy to be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame
Congratulations to Shaggy! Shaggy will be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame for his achievements and contributions to the growth of the reggae music industry both in Jamaica and abroad!

Shaggy will receive his induction in the Reggae Walk of Fame when he returns to Trelawny to perform at the official grand opening celebration of the new cruise ship port in Falmouth, Jamaica on March 22. The largest cruise ship of the world, The Oasis of the Seas, will call into Falmouth that day. Other inductees in the Reggae Walk of Fame include Yellowman, Culture, Toots Hibbert, Tony Rebel, Barrington Levy, Third World, Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, The I-Threes and Ky-Mani Marley.

The South Florida Caribbean News and the Broward-Palm Beach New Times write that Shaggy will perform at the Best of the Best 2010 concert on May 30 in Miami! The line-up includes Shaggy, Gucci Mane, Mavado, Serani, Bounty Killer, Baby Cham, Mr. Vegas, Anthony B, Demarco, Gyptian, Tony Matterhorn and the New Kingston Band. Shaggy also performed at the concert in 2007 and says it’s awesome to be back!
Shaggy will not perform at the Best of the Best concert this year, he will take the stage at Pure Nightclub and Venus Pool Club in Las Vegas during the Memorial Day weekend!

Agárdi Zenei Fesztivál, Hungary (July/August)
Shaggy, Sean Paul, Akon, Kardinal Offishal and many more artists will perform at the Part 1 Agárdi Zenei Fesztivál in Agard, Hungary! The festival will be held July 28 – August 1. For more information and tickets, visit the official Agárdi Zenei Fesztivál site!

New official full length video Rise Again with Shaggy, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, download Rise Again

Shaggy, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Tessanne Chin and Etana (from Jamaica), Alison Hinds, Shontelle Layne and Edwin Yearwood (from Barbados), David Rudder, Kees Dieffenthaller and Destra Garcia (from Trinidad) and Belo (from Haiti) recorded a song to benefit the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and it’s available now!

The song, which is called Rise Again, was written by Shaggy and produced by Christopher ‘Langman’ Birch for Birchill Records, to raise money for the Digicel Haiti Relief Fund. The Jamaica Observer writes that Rise Again is the #1 song in Ireland and the #2 song in Japan (on the Japanese reggae charts, it is #1), according to a Splash analysis!

New song Rise Again for Haiti earthquake victims

Rise Again Haiti
Shaggy teamed up with fellow Caribbean artists Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Tessanne Chin and Etana (from Jamaica), Alison Hinds, Shontelle Layne and Edwin Yearwood (from Barbados), David Rudder, Kees Dieffenthaller and Destra Garcia (from Trinidad) and Belo (from Haiti) to record a song for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti!

The song, which is called Rise Again, was written by Shaggy and produced by Christopher ‘Langman’ Birch (Birchill Records), to raise money for the Digicel Haiti Relief Fund. It will be available soon!

Shaggy says about the release of the song: “Rise Again is for the people of Haiti. It is to show them that we are here for them and that we will support them each step of the way as they begin rebuilding their lives which were shattered by the earthquake. I am very proud of this song and the collaboration with Digicel. With the launch of Rise Again, we can raise much needed funds to support the relief efforts in Haiti.

Trinidad concert rescheduled, new song I Wear My Sunglasses at Night, IRAWMA and RE TV Awards

Trinidad concert rescheduled
Shaggy’s and NeYo’s concert at Queen’s Park, Port Oval in Trinidad, today has been rescheduled to April 25, due to NeYo cancelling his part of the show. Shaggy and John Legend will perform on the new show on April 25! Trinidad Express.

Vote for Shaggy at the IRAWMA Awards
Shaggy is one of the nominees at the International Reggae And World Music Awards, which will be held on Sunday, May 3. Legendary engineer Erroll Brown, who worked for Shaggy as well as for Bob Marley and Ziggy Marley, will be inducted into the IRAWMA Hall of Fame.
