Shaggy & Wyclef Jean live in Jamaica

Shaggy and Wyclef Jean live at the LIME Campus Crew Tour
Shaggy and Wyclef Jean did a surprise performance at the Waterford High School in Portmore, Jamaica on October 22 (Shaggy’s birthday)! The students went crazy when Shaggy and Wyclef entered the stage. Shaggy and Wyclef Jean performed several songs and Wyclef sang Happy Birthday to Shaggy. Here’s a video!

Sean Kingston and Nicki Minaj recently shot a video for their new single “Letting Go (Dutty Love)”. Shaggy, Wayne Marshall, Tami Chynn, Voicemail, Ian Goodison, Barbee, Baby G, John John, Ding Dong and other Jamaican entertainers will make a special cameo appearance in the video! The video was directed by Little X and made at James Avenue in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Shaggy to perform at Brooklyn Music Festival and organizes a Walk for Peace in Jamaica

Shaggy to Brooklyn Music Festival
Shaggy, Fabolous, Lady Saw, Barrington Levy, Yellowman, Tanya Stephens, Assassin (Agent Sasco), Ding Dong, Gregory Isaacs, Marcia Griffiths, B.O.B., Da’Ville, Tanya Stephens and many more will perform at the 3rd Annual Brooklyn Music Festival!

The Brooklyn Music Festival will be held on July 4 at Aviator Sports and Recreation at Floyd Bennet Field, Flatbush Avenue Extension South, New York. For more info about the festival and tickets, visit the official festival site!

Shaggy organizes a Walk for Peace: Save Jamaica!
Jamaica has had a long standing problem with violence and after the recent shootings of dancehall artists Oneil (of the group Voicemail) and Mad Cobra, the entertainment community is planning a Peace March on May 23. Edit: please note that the Peace March has been postponed due to the recent unrest in Jamaica.

New songs for Haiti, Coke Zero concert with Tessanne Chin and Sean Kingston, win tickets to Raggamuffin Festival OZ and NZ

New songs for Haiti with Etana and Sean Kingston
Shaggy recorded a song for Haiti! One part is with Etana and has been produced by Christopher Birch for Birchill Records. The other part is a collaboration with Sean Kingston, which they recorded this weekend in Jamaica! It is called “We’ll Rise Again”. More artists will be featured and the song will be released soon!

Here are some of the newly added 2010 Shaggy tour dates! So far the Raggamuffin Festival in Australia and New Zealand has been confirmed by Big Yard, the other dates haven’t been confirmed yet but they have been in the media.

Shaggy and Usain Bolt to Hollywood
The fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, will play the turntables for charity at Jazzy T’s annual birthday celebration at the Seminole Hard Rock Opium Night Club in Hollywood on January 17. Shaggy will also be present, according to the South Florida News!

Raggamuffin Festival Australia and New Zealand
Shaggy, Wyclef Jean, Julian Marley, Sean Kingston, Steel Pulse, Lauryn Hill and Sly & Robbie will perform at the Raggamuffin Festival in Australia and New Zealand on January 23-31. For the exact tour dates and locations, here.

Youth View Awards 2010
Shaggy, Ding Dong, Tifa, Aidonia, Elephant Man, Voicemail, Etana, G-Whizz, Tessanne Chin and more artists will perform at the Youth View Awards 2010! And that’s not all, Shaggy has been nominated for awards in the categories of Celebrity Role Model and Local International Artiste of the Year!

Ragga Muffins Festival California

Wanna take a look in Shaggy´s Big Yard music studio in Jamaica, watch interviews and hear a lot of cool music? MTV Japan did a documentary about Shaggy in Jamaica. Shaggy talks about his origins in Rae Town, Kingston, his music from the Ruff Entry Crew, his situation with different record companies until Church Heathen and Intoxication (which was being released when this video documentary was made) and you get to take a look in his house and his studio. Bob Marley’s studio is also featured in the video. The music in the video is among others Big Up (live), Boombastic, Luv Me Luv Me, Why Must She Treat You So Bad, Angel, It Wasn’t Me, Wild 2Nite, More Woman, Woman Scorned, What’s Love, Reggae Vibes and the rare Call Me Up!

Big Yard´s manager and producer Robert Livingston also talks about Shaggy and how their collaboration came about. He says Shaggy’s one of the greatest artist he’s ever met. Fellow artists Chuck Fender, Blacker, General Degree, Christopher Martin and Voicemail also speak about Shaggy. Shaggy made a special Church Heathen and Call Me Up dubplate for MTV Japan as well. New Shaggy song: I Can’t Fight this Feeling
Young Lion played a brand new Shaggy tune on his show. The song is called I Can’t Fight this Feeling and is on Christopher Birch’s new Baddaz Riddim, which also features contributions by Elephant Man (Dance), D’Angel (Push Over), Busy Signal (Hustling), Assassin (Child Molester), Vybz Kartel (Selassie I Luv We), Red Fox featuring Tash (Go On), Pamputae (Stress Free), Kipirch (Who Seh), Voicemail (Nuh Stray) and Lisa Hype feat. Vybz Kartel (How Yuh Do It Like Dat). You can listen to it on Young Lion’s newest show.
