New Shaggy song: I Can’t Fight this Feeling
Young Lion played a brand new Shaggy tune on his show. The song is called I Can’t Fight this Feeling and is on Christopher Birch’s new Baddaz Riddim, which also features contributions by Elephant Man (Dance), D’Angel (Push Over), Busy Signal (Hustling), Assassin (Child Molester), Vybz Kartel (Selassie I Luv We), Red Fox featuring Tash (Go On), Pamputae (Stress Free), Kipirch (Who Seh), Voicemail (Nuh Stray) and Lisa Hype feat. Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation, Shaggy & Friends Benefit Concert!

Shaggy is doing a beautiful thing for the Bustamente Hospital for Children in Kingston, Jamaica, and you can help! The Bustamente Hospital is the main pediatric hospital in the West Indies, which’ resources to treat children are stretched to the limit because of a lack of facilities. Expensive medical equipment and a lack of public and private funding counteract the hospital’s ability to provide the necessary health care required to treat each and every child.

Shaggy has been supporting the hospital for years and he now created the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation to help raise funds for the hospital to save many more children’s lives. You can read all about it on Shaggy’s official Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation site. It has information about how you can help and about Shaggy’s upcoming benefit concert. The site also has a lot of photos and videos.

The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert, 1 ticket equals saving 1 life, will be held on Saturday January 3 2009 on the Jamaica House Lawn featuring

none other than Shaggy himself, Macy Gray, Buju Banton, Sean Paul, J. Holliday, Tony Rebel, Sean Kingston, Tarrus Riley, Luciano, Tesanna Chin, Da’Ville, Freddie McGregor, Etana, Allison Hinds, Elephant Man, Marcia Griffiths, Tyson Beckford and many more.

The gates open at 6 PM, the concert starts at 8 PM. Tickets are available at Susie’s Bakery, White Bone’s Restaurant and Music Mart at Twin Gates Plaza. All proceeds will be donated to the Bustamente Hospital for Children!

Shaggy was present at the launch of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2009 on the lawns of Devon House on Wednesday. There’s a picture and article with photo at the Jamaica Gleaner.

He announced his plans to stage a big benefit concert, to raise $2 million USD for the Bustamente Hospital for Children in Kingston, Jamaica. Shaggy will organize the concert on January 3 on the lawns of Jamaica House. The line-up hasn’t been announced yet, but according to Dancehall.mobi and the Jamaica Gleaner big artists will be there: among others J. Holliday, Macy Gray, Sean Kingston, Alric & Boyd and Tyson Beckford and of course Shaggy himself.

New Shaggy tunes! Two Places at One Time and Bad Man Don’t Cry!

Wanna hear more hot new Shaggy songs? Danny Pepperseed will play not one, but two brand new Shaggy tunes on his Dancehall Vibes show today! The show will be broadcast on Stadsradio Helmond on Wednesday December 3 at 22.00h Dutch time (GMT +1). There’s a live audio stream here!

The first new song is Bad Man Don’t Cry, for which a videowas released at Asylum Nite Club’s anniversary this Saturday. The song was produced by Robert Livingston, you can read part of the lyrics here.

The second brand new song that will be played on the Dancehall Vibes show is Hezron featuring Shaggy, Two Places at one Time. The song and riddim were produced by Danny Champagne, who is also in the Bad Man Don’t Cry video.

If you wanna hear the newest Shaggy songs, one of which you probably haven’t heard of or heard anywhere before, and if you wanna hear a good dancehall vibes selection, this is definitely a show you don’t wanna miss!

Shaggy’s current new single What’s Love feat. Akon has been released on November 5 in the UK and on November 7 in Germany and other European countries. Shaggy will be performing live on stage on the French Star Academy with one of the contestants as well as as well as Patricia Kaas and Katy Perry on Friday November 14 20.50h according to a TF1 communiqué!

Shaggy Parrot and the Reggae Band
Shaggy contributed to a beautiful book-and-CD set for children, which introduces them in a fun way to reggae music and educates them about pollution! Shaggy Parrot and the Reggae Band is a book-and-CD set for children from ages 0 to 8 years old. The story is about a waterfall in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, that is polluted by people. The waterfall feels sad about the pollution, so a team of sea animals try to cheer it up. Shaggy Parrot, whose voice is read by Shaggy, and friends make reggae music while they help clean up the waterfall.

The book has beautiful illustrations and the CD features 9 music tracks by Shaggy. The sales will benefit two of Shaggy’s charities, St Andrew’s Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica and the Tatiana McIntosh Scholarship fund based in Florida. Shaggy Parrot & the Reggae Band is set to be released in November this year; it will first be available in Jamaica, after which a release in the US will follow.

Shaggy is in the new 2008 Pepsi Kung Fu Fighting commercial! Here’s the link to watch Shaggy’s video! If you visit the official Pepsi Kung Fu Fighting web site, click on Shaggy and then you can watch Shaggy’s version of the video commercial, which also features Tami Chynn, Verne Troy and T-Pain. You can also play a game there and get the Kung Fu Fighting ringtone.

The commercial is a remake of the seventies’ song Kung Fu Fighting. The Jamaica Gleaner writes how Pepsi chose Shaggy’s interpretation of Kung Fu Fighting for their new commercial. The Jamaica Observer interviewed Shaggy and Tami Chynn about their participation in the Pepsi Kung Fu Fighting commercial. A version of Tami Chynn’s ad, which also features Shaggy, can be seen below.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what song will be Shaggy’s next single lately. I can’t tell you more than I read or heard so far – I´m not affiliated with Shaggy´s or any record company, so I don´t know anything for sure – but I will share what I know with you.

Shaggy´s next single in France is (by his own words in an interview) going to be Those Days featuring Na´Sha. Also, we still haven´t seen the French What´s Love video featuring Lord Kossity yet, although Mr Boombastic has a cameo in Lord Kossity’s Le respect n’achète pas videoclip. His next single in Germany might be Mad, Mad World featuring Sizzla Kalonji and Collie Buddz – or any other song from his Intoxication album. His next international single might be or is going to be Body A Shake. So…there you have it…like it?
