Shaggy, Celine Dion and Kelly Rowland to perform at Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival 2012
The Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival organization just announced that Shaggy, Celine Dion, Kelly Rowland, John Holt, Yellowman, Half Pint, Marcia Griffiths and Toots Hibbert are going to hit the stage at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival at the Greenfield Stadium in Trelawny, Jamaica!
The festival, which is known to attract visitors from all over the world, takes place from January 26 to 28 2012. Tickets will be available soon in Kingston and Montego Bay, as well as online at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival site.

Shaggy to be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame
Congratulations to Shaggy! Shaggy will be inducted into the Reggae Walk of Fame for his achievements and contributions to the growth of the reggae music industry both in Jamaica and abroad!
Shaggy will receive his induction in the Reggae Walk of Fame when he returns to Trelawny to perform at the official grand opening celebration of the new cruise ship port in Falmouth, Jamaica on March 22. The largest cruise ship of the world, The Oasis of the Seas, will call into Falmouth that day. Other inductees in the Reggae Walk of Fame include Yellowman, Culture, Toots Hibbert, Tony Rebel, Barrington Levy, Third World, Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, The I-Threes and Ky-Mani Marley.

Shaggy recorded a new song called Wave with Ricky Blaze! The song was produced by Ricky Blaze and it’s featured on Ricky Blaze’s upcoming Party Vibe riddim (FME Recordings), which will be available on iTunes soon.

NBC Today Show / Smile Jamaica videos
NBC Today hosts Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb co-hosted a special edition of TVJ’s Smile Jamaica. Shaggy was one of the featured guests on the show. Segments of the show will be broadcast on the Today Show on NBC in May and the entire show will be posted on the Today show’s site! 1998 Rise Up rare music video with Shaggy and other Jamaican artists
When the Jamaican soccer team (the Reggae Boyz) participated in the soccer World Cup in 1998, Shaggy, Ziggy Marley, Buju Banton, Diana King, Maxi Priest, Ini Kamoze, I-Trees, Buju Banton, Tony Rebel, Richie Stephens, Brian Gold and Toots Hibbert teamed up for the song and video of Rise Up. Shaggy & Friends concert
The Shaggy & Friends concert in benefit of the Bustamente Hospital for Children took place last weekend at the Lawns of Jamaica House. The event started with an auction, after which Shaggy, Boyz II Men, Mario Winans, Joe, Machel Montano HD, Beenie Man, Baby Trish, Toots Hibbert, Ce’Cile, Alaine, Tessanne Chin, Mikal Rose, T.O.K., Sanchez, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Cham, Queen Ifrica, Chevaughn, Ding Dong, Ity & Fancy Cat, Dr Michael Abrahams, Blakka Ellis and many more were on stage. According to attendees, the concert was overall a huge success!
All proceeds of the concert will go to the Bustamente Hospital for Children, which is the only pediatric hospital in the West Indies. It lacks the resources to provide adequate care for sick children. By attending the hospital or contributing otherwise you can support this worthy cause! More info.

Shaggy Foundation on Deal or No Deal
Big Yard recording artist Christopher Martin represented the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation in Deal or No Deal, a Digicel tv show in which contestants can try to win a lot of money. A music video clip was shot for the Street Bullies Riddim! The video features Shaggy, Red Foxx, Christopher Martin, Ce’Cile and Vybz Kartel and was directed by Jay Will for Game Over Films. Carleene Samuels was the producer and the video was edited by I.AM.THE.KRITIK.
The video takes the viewers back to dancehalls from 1984 to 2009. First up in the video is Shaggy with Long Time. Then it’s Red Foxx ‘s turn with Bounce, followed by Chris Martin Vibe is Right, Ce’Cile Nah Stress and Vybz Kartel Slow Motion. You can watch the new video below!
Shaggy receives the Gleaner Honour Award!
The Jamaica Gleaner presented Shaggy with the Gleaner Honour Award for excellence in the category of voluntary service, for his extensive charity work for the Bustamente Hospital for Children. On October 28 the launch of Shaggy and Friends I Dare You 2010 was held. A new Shaggy & Friends charity concert will be organized in 2010!
On January 1, a celebrity pre-party will be organized, featuring local artists, and on January 2 a new Shaggy & Friends charity concert will be organized! Papa San, Tanya Stephens, Michael Rose, Queen Ifrica, Sanchez, Ce’Cile, Toots Hibbert, Ding Dong, Cham, Machel Montano, Half Pint, Busy Signal, Beenie Man, US singer Joe and Ali Campbell (the former UB40 frontman) will perform!
Also, a book will be published later this year about the activities of the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation.

Shaggy to the Raggamuffin Festival 2010
Shaggy will return to the Raggamuffin Festival in Australia and New Zealand in 2010! Shaggy, Wyclef Jean, Sly & Robbie, Julian Marley, Sean Kingston, Steel Pulse, Blue King Brown and House Of Shem will perform at the festival in January. The Shakti Love Fest’s auction to raise more funds for the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation continues until noon (Jamaican time) today, Shaggy’s birthday. If you want to purchase an item and help the Bustamente Hospital for Children, you can still do so for a few hours!
