When Cyndi Lauper invited Shaggy on stage, she traded the black wig she came on stage with for Shaggy’s hat at some point in time – you can see it all at Concede. Dawn Yang also has a couple of pics of Shaggy and Eatnlive has very clear photos of Shaggy, Na’Sha and Cyndi Lauper as well as Same old Brand New me-17 on which you can see Cyndi Lauper wearing Shaggy’s hat.

There are also Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper pictures at the Singfest galleries by Faith and Adigal.Cyndi Lauper Source, a Cyndi Lauper fan site, has a large number of pictures of the Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper duet, as well of a review of what fans who attended the concert wrote (I think I linked them as well). Niquey has a picture of Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper making funny faces and a pic of Shaggy on his concert without Cyndi. Freya has a couple of large pictures of Shaggy, Tony Gold, Michael Fletcher and the rest of the band.

And then there are also reviews without pictures of Shaggy. Both Snapdroplock and Lover suicide write that Shaggy’s show was a blast; Gunz writes that Shaggy brought the atmosphere to a new high, he livened up the show and he got many people who were sitting down before to dance to his music. Ah, Shaggy knows how to get a crowd go wild, doesn’t he?

Before we get to the videos, here are a couple of reviews and pictures of Shaggy & crew as well as Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper live in concert on August 8, Day 1 of the Singfest 2007 festival in Fort Canning Park, Singapore. Rubenerd has two pics of Shaggy and writes that the Cyndi Lauper & Shaggy combo was pretty good. There’s another review of the Singfest 2007 by Tabula Rasa and Debaserr. Most festival goers agree that the Shaggy and Cyndi Lauper duo performance was the highlight of the evening. Natasha Yong who also like the Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper collaboration has a lot of pictures and weetzdomtooth says the crowd was totally sold after Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper dueted together – he also has a pic of Shaggy just like User Sin LJ.

Shaggy and Cyndi Lauper All Through the Night

Shaggy will be performing at the Singfest 2007 in Fort Canning Park, Singapore today, as well as Cyndi Lauper, the Pet Shop Boys, the Stranglers, Sugar Ray and Sacha Bach Band. Cyndi Lauper, who performed together with Shaggy before and recorded “All Through the Night” on her latest album “The Body Acoustic” with Mr Lover Lover, told the gathered press at yesterday’s press conference that she’s looking forward to be on the same festival as Mr Boombastic and that she’s hoping to jam a little together with Shaggy at the concert. So Singfest 2007 attendees… you might be in for a real treat!

Shaggy’s 2007 album Intoxication has been released in Japan today, I’ll have an item about the new album in not too much time so stay tuned or come back soon! As far as the rumors go about an upcoming Shaggy & Akon performance in Japan, I have no idea of whether they are true or not. Shaggy’s label and his MySpace don’t confirm anything either. If I find out anything, I’ll post it here!

Shaggy will NOT perform at the Rheinland Pfalz Open Air 2007 in Mainz, Germany on August 18
Shaggy had to cancel his performance at the RPR Rheinland Pfalz Open Air 2007 on August 18 in Mainz, Germany, due to personal reasons. RPR is happy to announce that although Shaggy would have made a great show, Rihanna will replace Mr Boombastic and band.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope we’ll all have a wonderful 2008. Hopefully we’ll continue to see and hear lots from Shaggy this year as much or more than we’ve seen and heard last year. 2007 brought us Church Heathen, the new Intoxication album, Bonafide Girl featuring Rik Rok and Tony Gold and Like a Superstar by Trix & Flix feat. Shaggy (actually the Like A Superstar single will be released on January 4 2008 for the UEFA EURO 2008 soccer cup in the summer but the video has been on this site since December so…;))m Shaggy was awarded the Jamaican Order of Distinction in the Rank of Commander and he did awesome shows as always last year, just remember for instance the Leeds and London reggae concerts as well as the Singfest 2007 in Singapore with Cyndi Lauper and the Rototom Sunsplash 2007 in Italy – this list could go on and on.

This year, the new single and video by Shaggy feat. Akon for What’s Love will be released and Shaggy will start touring – in a couple of days he’ll perform at the Natalia Meets…En Vogue feat. Shaggy shows in Antwerp, Belgium already. Personally, I hope I’ll finally be able to see Shaggy live in concert again. I’d really like to see him live in concert or maybe even meet him, that would be awesome. Anyway, only some of the 2008 touring dates are known so far so as soon as I know when and where Shaggy will be performing I’ll post them here of course.

Shaggy’s bass guitarist, Michael Fletcher, has already been preparing for the Natalia Meets…En Vogue feat. Shaggy concert series in Antwerp, Belgium for a couple of days and left for a couple of days in between to assist Shaggy on his shows in Trinidad and Bermuda with Collie Buddz. Shaggy will be there soon as well and the premiere show opens in a couple of days.

Shaggy is going to return to Malaysia for the “Live & Loud KL 07”. LNLKL07 is one of the biggest – if not the biggest – of the South Asian festivals which also include the Singfest in Singapore where Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper rocked the stage earlier this year. Other artists who will be at the festival are Whitney Houston, Elliot Yamin, K-Ci & Jojo, James Morrison, Jaclyn Victor, Adibah Noor, Hannah Tan and Dionne Warwick. The festival will take place between November 23 and December 2 2007. Tickets will be available from mid-October. The event is organised by Live & Loud Sdn Bhd and endorsed by the Tourism Ministry.

If you haven’t heard Shaggy’s hot new tunes Bonafide Love (this song is also going to be on Shaggy’s upcoming album Intoxication) featuring Rik Rok and Tony Gold and Yuh A Move Hype on the 2007 Shanty Town Riddim a.k.a. Panty Town Riddim yet (or Da’Ville’s Fling It Up or Collie Buddz feat. Roache’s Sensimilia), you now have the chance to listen to the songs on Robbo Ranx‘s Thursday Dancehall Splurt (right at the beginning of the recording). The broadcast will be available until next Thursday, so you still have a week to listen to them!

And there’s more UK news, so UK readers listen up! Shaggy will be performing at the free Leeds Reggae Concert on August 26 in Potternewton Park in Leeds, together with Freddy McGregor, Mr Vegas, Wayne Wonder and a vast number of UK reggae acts. If you’re not from the UK or you can’t attend, there’s no problem, since BBC 1Xtra will broadcast the concert live!

(So I guess Shaggy’s concert in Trinidad on August 26 that Big Yard has on its site is not going to happen.)
