Robbo Ranx played the new Hard Beat Riddim by Big Yard yesterday, including Shaggy’s Who A Wear Di Jacket and Rayvon’s Games We Play (which is also on the Stock Track Riddim). I read that a couple of this blog’s readers want to know where you can listen to them again after hearing them on Danny Pepperseed’s Dancehall Vibes or Robbo Ranx’s Dancehall Splurt: if you haven’t heard the new 2007 Shaggy song Jacket or Rayvon’s remix of Games We Play you can listen to it on Tuesday’s Dancehall Splurt until a week from now.
Another new Shaggy song, the Shaggy and Ninja Man combination “A Nuh You, A Nuh Me” tune on the Take Protection Riddim a.k.a. Big Yard riddim (which also features Rayvon Sorry Fi Dem, D-Linx My Girl and Wayne Fire More Gal), is in (some) stores now.

Shaggy will chat live on GMTV at 9.30 BST (GMT +1) tomorrow, for which you can send in questions now or you can chat live on in the internet with him tomorrow. As we announced before, Shaggy will indeed be the host of the prestigious MOBO Awards Show on September 19 in the O2 Arena in London, UK, together with UK R&B artist Jamelia. You can ask him all about it and about his upcoming 2007 album Intoxication in tomorrow’s chat (or through today’s questions)!
Shaggy and Jamelia will be present at the MOBO Awards Nominations Announcement on August 22. Shaggy, who just released his new album Intoxication in Japan which will be available internationally in October 2007, will also be one of the hosts of the MOBO Awards 2007 show on September 19 in The O2 Arena, London, UK. The prestigious MOBO Awards will probably be broadcast live by the BBC TV.
EMS will release a DVD of Shaggy & crew in concert at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival in Germany in 1998. The DVD will also include a CD, a booklet and biographies of the crew. The Shaggy Live at Chiemsee Reggae Summer DVD containing 195 minutes of Shaggadelic material will be available in September. You can order it from German online stores like Amazon.de, DVD Palace and Trade-A-Game. A couple of days ago one video of the festival was uploaded on YouTube, so of course I included it below. Please note: as far as I know this is a promo video for the DVD release, I am not legally or otherwise responsible for the content of other sites even if embedded or linked from YouTube.Hot & steamy Boombastic video from 1998 – visit at your own risk.
There are loads more photos of the Singfest 2007 in Fort Canning Park, Singapore on August 8 (Day 1) and 9 (Day 2). The Sacha Bach Band, Shaggy, the Stranglers, Cyndi Lauper & Shaggy, Sugar Ray and the Pet Shop Boys performed on Day 1. For a lot of pictures visit the official Singfest web site or Nightlife.sg (album 1 and 2 of the Singfest 2007 – you might need to register), Todaealas also has pics of Shaggy, Na’Sha and Shaggy and Cyndi Lauper where Shaggy is wearing Cyndi’s wig and Cyndi is wearing Shaggy’s hat, Kissedbyafool has some pictures from the Nightlife.sg album and Amaka has a lot of very good pictures of the festival as well.
Shaggy might perform at the Notting Hill Carnival from the Rampage Stage on August 27. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but since BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra always broadcast the Notting Hill Carnival live and Shaggy’s concert on the Leeds Reggae Concert on August 26 will also be broadcast live by BBC 1Xtra… there might be two Shaggy concerts streamed online in two days!
Ghana Music has a review of Shaggy’s two day concerts in Accra, Ghana. Shaggy, Rayvon, Marlon Asher a.k.a. “the ganja farmer”, Wayne Mitchell and crews performed at the International Conference Center and the Trade Fair Center combined with a show for the Joy FM Old Schools Reunion. The concerts, which were broadcast live by MTV Base, were a big success. You can read all about it in the article.
