SUMMERJAM 2008
The first international superstar for the German reggae festival Summerjam 2008 has been confirmed: it’s Shaggy! Summerjam 2008 will be held from July 4 ’till 6 in Cologne, Germany. Tickets for the festival will be available during an early buy action from December 1 until January 15 from the official SummerJam 2008 web site. Source.

One more date has been added to Shaggy’s concert series in Antwerp, Belgium at the Natalia Meets…En Vogue featuring Shaggy concerts. Natalia, En Vogue and Shaggy will also perform on Saturday January 12, 2008 in addition to January 5, 6 and 11 2008. Source.

Shaggy will attend the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 in the Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany! The event takes place this Thursday (November 1) and will be broadcast live from several local MTV stations starting at 8 or 9 PM (check your local tv guide listings for the exact time). Intoxication free in-store Apple Soho NYC concert
Shaggy will be performing new songs from his upcoming 2007 album Intoxication live at a free in-store event on November 7 in the Apple Soho Store in New York at 9pm. He will perform Bonafide Girl, Church Heathen, What’s Love and many more. Sounds pretty hot!

Chris Goldfinger played a very new Shaggy song on his show on BBC Radio 1 last night that I haven’t heard anywhere else yet: it’s Alicia Keys featuring Shaggy, No One (remix)! You can listen to it on Goldfinger’s page until next week’s show. So…do you like this new Shaggy tune?

Shaggy will be speaking at the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization’s International Conference on IP and the Creative Industries in Geneva, Switzerland, tomorrow, on October 29 at 11.30h. He will be one out of three speakers on the theme “The Concept and Origins of Creativity”. His presentation is called “The Birth of the Creative Idea”.

Shaggy celebrated the release of his new 2007 album Intoxication in club ItoI in Osaka, Japan yesterday, after having had a first release party in club AgeHa in Tokyo yesterday. This second Intoxication release party in Japan was a big success as well… Shaggy and Rayvon performed a lot of songs and the audience loved it. Shaggy will be at Saturday Night’s Special Reggae Jam at Club I to I tonight to celebrate the release of his 2007 album Intoxication, together with among others Rayvon, Soldier, Dodge and Jah-T from Killasan Movement and Bionic Skank. Both Club ItoI and Rockers Island have nice promos for the Good Time Meets Shaggy Intoxication album release party. It is being said that Mr Lover Lover will also have a release party on November 8 at Club Festivals in Philadelphia, US, but I haven’t read any confirmation about that yet. Acary wrote about Shaggy’s Intoxication release party in club Ageha in Tokyo, Japan and she has two more photos of Shaggy and Rayvon in concert.

International press agency Reuters had an interview with Shaggy about his new 2007 album Intoxication, which is set for release on November 13 in the US and the Caribbean. The article is called “Shaggy reconnects with reggae roots on indie debut”. It says a lot about Shaggy’s new found freedom now that he isn’t on any major record company that tries to hold him back anymore and his unique style of performing live. Shaggy had his first Japanese Intoxication Release Party in Club AgeHa in Tokyo, Japan, yesterday, and the celebration was a big success! Shaggy and Rayvon wowed the crowds when they performed a couple of the songs on the new Intoxication album as well as some of their older hits. Suya and Tammy have very nice pictures and stories (in Japanese) about the release party.

Did I mention Shaggy was a busy boy on October 20? I have to correct myself: he was a VERY busy boy, he did even more than two shows that day. He went to and from England for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2007, he raced in the Stock Car Challenge 2007 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and he also represented at the Riddim Soundclash 2007 in Dusseldorf, Germany – the sound clash between world famous David Rodigan, Sentinel Sound and Black Scorpio warmed up by Pow Pow Movement sound system.
