Shaggy & Friends 2012 charity concert for the Bustamante Hospital for Children

Tomorrow, the third edition of the Shaggy & Friends charity concert is taking place at the Lawns of Jamaica House in Jamaica! The concert, which includes performances by Lauryn Hill, Eve, Maxi Priest and Shaggy, will raise funds to the construction of a 15-bed cardiac intensive care unit at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in St Andrews, Jamaica. All proceeds go to the Bustamante Hospital. If you’re in Jamaica on January 7, I dare you to come support the Shaggy & Friends charity concert and Make a Difference!

Shaggy, Eve, Lauryn Hill, Maxi Priest, Half-Pint, Coco Tea, I-Octane, Gyptian, Mr Vegas, Wayne Marshall, Tami Chynn, Deniece Williams, Assassin, Romain Virgo and two huge surprise acts are going to give a performance on Shaggy & Friends!

Tickets to the Shaggy & Friends benefit concert are available at Liguanea Drug & Garden, Susie’s Bakery & Coffee Bar (Southdale), Music Mart, LG Service Stations (C. Spring Rd.), Sun Island outlets islandwide, Tracks & Records, The Jamaica Pegasus, Wyndam Kingston and selected LIME outlets (Half Way Tree, Carlton Crescent, Bargain Main, Portmore Mall, Knutsford and Sovereign). Shaggy will make a special appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC on January 4, 2012! Don’t miss it!

Shaggy & Friends charity concert (January 7)
Shaggy is organising the third installment of his Shaggy & Friends charity concert for the Bustamente Hospital for Children and the Chain of Hope Foundation on January 7!

The concert takes place on the Lawns of Jamaica House in Jamaica and the artists who have been confirmed to perform so far are Shaggy, Lauryn Hill, Romain Virgo, Coco Tea, Half Pint, Tami Chynn, Wayne Marshall, Chino and Assassin. Reggae singer Maxi Priest has also been added to the list of performers!

Shaggy will perform at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival at the Greenfield Stadium in Trelawny, Jamaica on January 26! Other artists to perform at the festival are Celine Dion, Cee-Lo Green, Tickets are available at the official site of the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival. TEENage Shaggy interview
The Jamaica Observer’s TEENage spoke to Shaggy about his recent and upcoming endeavours, like his collaboration with Tessanne Chin on their new hot single Never Let Me Go. The top song in the German Reggae Charts of 2009 is Long Time, Shaggy’s song on the Street Bullies Riddim! It is the overall #1 on the reggae charts. I Can’t Fight This Feeling, Shaggy’s song on the Baddaz Riddim, is at #11 in the year charts! Trend Charts.

UK end of the decade charts!
Shaggy and Rik Rok’s huge hit It Wasn’t Me is the #1 selling R&B single in the UK of the 2000s! It also is the highest selling non-tv shows single of the decade and the #1 selling single of 2001. The Shaggy & Rayvon single Angel is in the top selling singles of 2001 as well and comes in at #10. Wow, what an achievement!

Happy New Year!

The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert for the Bustamente Hospital for Children was a huge success! The number of people who came to view the show that took place on the lawn of Jamaica House on January 3 was very high. Artists who attended were among others Shaggy, Rik Rok, Rayvon, Na’Sha, Barrington Levy, Elephant Man, Macy Gray, D’Angel, Etana, Buju Banton, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Tony Rebel, Tarrus Riley, Sean Paul, Allison Hinds, Ce’Cile, Christopher Martin, Marcia Griffiths, Da’Ville, Milk, Usain Bolt, Ity and Fancy Cat, Dean Fraser, Morgan Heritage and Lady Saw.
