Shaggy’s wild, enthusiastic performance at the Rototom Sunsplash 2007 was a big success and there are even more videos of it online now! First of all, there’s a video of Shaggy singing Boombastic at the sound check which is followed by an interview. In the interview, Shaggy compares the success of his music in Europe, the rest of the world and the U.S., he speaks about freedom of speech, he tells he’s against violence and gives his opinion on the current situation in Iraq, his experiences in the first Gulf War and the current global refugee problems and he also tells more about his upcoming 2007 album Intoxication and what the next single of his new album might be.
“We have more success in Europe than in America. America is such a big market, that we end up selling a lot more records, but we have more hits here in Europe. I think we have a very long and lasting relationship with Europe and the rest of the world.”

I’m not condoning any acts of violence towards any human being, whether young, old, race, black, white, other sexually oriented or otherwise. Inflicting any kind of harm towards any other human being is wrong. It gets us nowhere. You should be able to say what you wanna say, nobody should be chastised for their opinions. ”

“My new album is entitled Intoxication, it is produced by Tony Kelly, Sting International, Robert Livingston, Christopher Birch, to name a few, featuring a song by Sizzla Kalonji and Collie Buddz, Akon on Give Me Some Blessings On It (on the Japanese track listing it is called What’s Love), a song with Shaggy and Rayvon of course, a Shaggy and Rik Rok collaboration called Bonafide Love which probably will be our next hit single, so all is well.”
