Tonight: Shaggy and Tony Rebel to host IRAWMA Awards!

Tonight: International Reggae and World Music Awards
Tonight the prestigious 2011 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) will be held at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad! Shaggy, who is nominated for four awards, and Tony Rebel are going to host the event. Machel Montano HD, Queen Ifrica, Freddy McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man, Tifa, Dean Fraser, Macka Diamond, Denise Belfon and more will perform at the awards ceremony. Gregory Isaacs’ Thanksgiving Service
Legendary reggae singer Gregory Isaacs passed away in London by the end of October. Yesterday his funeral and the thanksgiving service for his life were held at the National Indoor Sports Center in Kingston, Jamaica. The service, ‘A Red Rose For Gregory‘, was filled with musical tributes from among others Shaggy, Ken Boothe, Etana, Carlene Davis, Freddy McGregor, Judy Mowatt, The Tamlins and AJ Brown. Shaggy performed a tribute to the Cool Ruler at the Thanksgiving Service, singing Gregroy Isaacs’ Front Door (I Don’t Wanna Be Lonely Tonight) and telling a personal memory. Shaggy wrote about Gregory Isaacs’ passing on Twitter: “R.I.P Gregory, Your music will live on forever.. My condolences go out to all of your family!” and “Took me a minute ..but the cool Ruler will be missed…one of the 1st person in this business to show me luv!! R.I.P. Gregory!!!”.
