VP Records has just uploaded a better version of the Church Heathen remix video. The original Church Heathen video was a big success and it’s successor doesn’t disappoint. The Church Heathen Remix video takes the concept from the church to the dance floor: there’s the faces we already knew from the church video such as The Pastor (Ninja Man) who’s interested and disapprovingly overseeing his church people go bad, Sista Gwen, the Deacon, Sista Pam and many, many dancers (among whom Mad Michelle, Sadiki, Sample 6, Shelly Belly, Timeless and Shady Squad, the Portmore Dallas dancers, the Cadillac dancers, Doctor Bird and Black Blingaz), a hot dancing scene, all set against the background of the Kingston night clubs Quad and Asylum. The church people, who act like they’re all that at day, go bad at night dancing but cover up for church when the Pastor sees them. Shaggy’s looking very cool in the Goth hooded sweater and cap! And of course, there’s the sound of the hard-hitting and controversial Church Heathen. Ninja Man dj’s a part at the end of the video and Shaggy and Ninja talk a bit . Go check it out and buy the single of Shaggy’s upcoming 2007 album Intoxication – according to the New York Times the best in years!

The successor to the original Church Heathen video from the new 2007 Intoxication album is definitely hot!! The brand new remix video doesn’t have sound but you can see what it’s going to look like. There’s the entrance of Quad, the dance floor in Asylum, Shaggy, Ninja Man, the pastor, Spice a.k.a. sister Gwen, Sister Pam, Mad Michelle, Sadiki, Sample 6, Shelly Belly, Timeless and Shady Squad, the Portmore Dallas dancers, the Cadillac dancers, Doctor Bird and Black Blingaz (and I probably aren’t mentioning a lot of names I should have mentioned if the video were any clearer). And oh yeah, Shaggy’s rocking a cool hooded sweater!

Then, there are three more videos of Shaggy and DJ Kue in concert in the Nabilah club in Napoli, Italy. Shaggy interacts a lot with the crowd and performs Boombastic, Church Heathen and Angel. For more videos of this and other events, check the older posts or the main page.

Shaggy will be back in Italy on July 14, for a performance at the Rototom Sunsplash Reggae Festival, for which a promo interview has been done. Shaggy talks about his career since Boombastic, the music he makes which has to be recognizably Shaggy music, going back to his dancehall roots and still experimenting with his songs and making them available to the mainstream audiences, leaving Universal Music which didn’t support him and his artistic choices for his own label and VP Records, his newest single Church Heathen, and the good state reggae is in right now: Shaggy is proud to be a part of it.

Shaggy’s 2007 album Intoxication will feature collaborations with Sizzla, Red Foxx, Screechy Dan, Rik Rok and Rayvon (and I guess also Na’Sha and Collie Buddz and maybe Akon) and has been produced by Robert Livingston, Tony Kelly, Christopher Birch and, naturally, Sting International. The release date of Intoxication might be kicked back a little though, if this article is right, since the interview says the album will be release just before the end of this year.

I also added a couple of videos, one of Shaggy performing Hey Sexy Lady at TRL in Napoli in Italy, another one of Shaggy and band performing Angel, Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me and Hey Sexy Lady. The videos are on main.

Danny Pepperseed from Ovadoze Movement will play the newest Big Yard tunes today on his Dancehall Vibes show on Stadsradio Helmond: Shaggy and Ninja Man A Nuh U, A Nuh Me (an anti-HIV pro-safe sex song) from the new Big Yard Riddim promo, which was produced by BigYard’s big man Robert Livingston and also features tracks by Rayvon, D-Linx and Wayne Fire; as well as Rihanna and Shaggy Umbrella remix. You can listen to the radio show online between 1 and 3 p.m. GMT/CST (find your local times here), it will not be stored online.

It’s definitely a good show to listen to if you’re into dancehall music and if you wanna hear the newest Shaggy tunes, you really should check this one out!

Shaggy did a very successfull performance on the Italian Total Request Live in Milan. There’s a live concert video of him performing Hey Sexy right here. The Hey Sexy Lady song is in the middle of the video.

Shaggy had a dub session in Milan on Monday (see Bashment and Heavy Hammer). I haven’t been able to find a link to listen to it afterwards but who knows…you just might get it.

A certain very hot radio show that’ll be broadcast next Saturday will feature not just one but two new Shaggy songs, one of them I knew about for some time but I hadn’t mentioned on here yet. So… if you wanna know more… come back then as I’ll have the link up by Saturday!

Shaggy is in Italy today to perform at a very exclusive invitation-only show at La Rythmoteque in Milan. The invitation reads that “Shaggy has decided to have a party where he will present material off his new album”. He’ll be performing at La Rithmoteque, as well as Italian reggae act Twofingerz.

Shaggy and Elephant Man represented at FunkMaster Flex’s Custom Car and Bike Show, which was also attended by FunkMaster Flex himself of course, as well as Fat Joe, Ice-T, LL Cool J, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Fabolous, Clark Kent and Angie Martinez to name a few (full gallery here). I also found a couple of radio promos/interview, news paper articles and even a very recent video, but they’ll be added later.

Shaggy, Buju Banton, Cocoa Tea, Elephant Man, Supa G, Mime and more will perform on the 10th Annual Caribbean Sea Breeze Festival in Long Beach, California, on July 22. More news in a couple of days!

Shaggy might be present at Funkmaster Flex’s Custom Car and Bike Show today in New Jersey, but there are still some reviews of the Shaggy in Dubai concert that I hadn’t linked yet. Shaggy played One Love, Three Little Birds, Get Up Stand Up, Redemption Song and some more Bob Marley classics at the concert in the Madinat Arena on June 7 in the United Arab Emirates, as well as his own work, which was all received enthusiastically. Avid shaggy.v3x.biz reader Nicole mailed me that Big Yard also released a promo of a remix by Shaggy of Rihanna’s hit song Umbrella. Thanks to Danny Pepperseed from Ovadoze Movement!

Shaggy makes an appearance in the new video clip by Da’Ville featuring Sean Paul for the remix of Always on My Mind. The video was shot two-and-a-half weeks ago by Ras Kassa in Port Royal and tells the tale of a love that although it isn’t always perfect, their loves are always on the artists’ minds. As soon as a decent copy of the video is online, I’ll link it on here!

Fun fact: did you know Shaggy and Da’Ville share the same first name (Orville)?
