The Dome recently also did an interview with Shaggy – you can view the full interview video including Shaggy singing among others some Lionel Richie material here and you can read an introductory article and watch a promo video at this page.<
Now that Shaggy’s new 2007 album Intoxication has been released in Germany as well as the Shaggy live in concert at the Chiemsee Reggae Festival 1998 dvd, there’s a lot of interesting interviews to hear and read. First up, is an interview by unikosmos.de, a German student magazine, in which Shaggy claims to be a lesbian and tells all about reggae, ganja (Hanf), his music and his journey in the music industry, collaborating with artists like Janet Jackson versus collaborations with artists like Akon, religion, women, Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel and women again (I don’t think the last part of the article is entirely correct but I’m not sure). It also has three cool pictures of Mr. Boombastic! The interview. Interviews – links are only on http://shaggy.v3x.biz, so please credit with a link to this site where credit is due if you want a part of this!
Big Up Magazine has an audio interview with Shaggy, where he also sings parts of songs he wrote for Maxi Priest (I Believe in Love) and Brian and Tony Gold (Irresistible) as well as some of his own tunes (Yuh a Move Hype, Wild 2Nite and Bonafide)! He also speaks about his experiences with the major record companies, songs for the streets and the more commercial type of songs, Stefan Raab and of course his new album Intoxication. You can download the mp3 podcast of the interview on this page (use the first mp3 link)!
Then there are still several audio interviews which Shaggy did back in July, in between performing in Italy in several night clubs like Nabilah in Napoli, at TRL and at the Rototom Sunsplash 2007 that I had held back from linking until Shaggy’s Intoxication album finally has been released in Deutschland. You can download a mp3 podcast from an item with Shaggy at KISS FM. Radio Multikulti also did a radio interview with Shaggy, which you can download from their podcast list. They also have a picture of Shaggy in the studio in the accompanying article. When you click on “Bilder” (“Images”) under the heading “Ansehen” (“Take a look”) on the right, there are nine hot pics of Shaggy live in the radio station’s studio!
Radio Eins also interviewed Mr. Lover Lover – you can listen to the interview in Real Media Format (.rm/.ra) or download the podcast from Podcaster.de. There’s a pic of Shaggy in the Radio Eins studio on this page.
Shaggy’s Live at Chiemsee Reggae Summer DVD and bonus CD were also recently released in Germany. Streetclip.de bought the broadcasting rights and broadcast the whole concert several times on September 25 (sorry I didn’t link this earlier!). Here’s the final cover art.

We already mentioned Stefan Raab – guess what, Shaggy will be at Stefan Raab’s TV Total’s Stock Car Crash Challenge 2007 on October 20, 2007 in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. You can read more about Stefan Raab’s show here or buy your tickets from either of the pages linked from the bottom of Veltins-Arena page. (someone who doesn’t want his or her name to be mentioned mailed me that Sarah.88 already wrote about this on the Big Yard forum, so props to her!)
Shaggy will also be on the European (not just German!) Eurosport Buzz on October 17 at 08.45h Amsterdam/Berlin/Brussels/Paris time (the show was broadcast before on September 29, September 30, October 2 and October 6 among others). Eurosport Buzz is a new sports and lifestyle television magazine that airs what’s hot in entertainment and sports and shows its viewers a more personal, private side of the life of VIPs. And as for older Shaggy interviews and interviews not just from Germany, you can go to the Blues and Soul Magazine, Riddim.de (3 pages, Shaggy’s road manager Paul Lee a.k.a. Rossy also speaks about Shaggy – I don’t know if I’m spelling his name correctly), Zangtalent.be (a Lumidee interview who also has a lot of good stuff to say about Shaggy) and you can read more about Shaggy’s performance at the Madison Square Gardens here. Belgian singer Natalia, with whom Shaggy and En Vogue are going to perform in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, Belgium in January 2008, recently performed Boombastic on stage. Shaggy is going to return to Malaysia for the “Live & Loud KL 07”. LNLKL07 is one of the biggest – if not the biggest – of the South Asian festivals which also include the Singfest in Singapore where Shaggy & Cyndi Lauper rocked the stage earlier this year. Other artists who will be at the festival are Whitney Houston, Elliot Yamin, K-Ci & Jojo, James Morrison, Jaclyn Victor, Adibah Noor, Hannah Tan and Dionne Warwick. The festival will take place between November 23 and December 2 2007. Tickets will be available from mid-October. The event is organised by Live & Loud Sdn Bhd and endorsed by the Tourism Ministry.
Shaggy will be on several big late night shows to promote his upcoming album Intoxication. On November 13, he will perform his new single Bonafide Girl feat. Rik Rok and Tony Gold at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. On November 14, he will perform at the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson as well as talk to Tavis Smiley. On November 15, Shaggy will also do tv promotions in LA. Sounds pretty exciting!
