Shaggy, Enrique Iglesias, Jojo, XZibit, Kelly Rowland, Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Rufus Wainwright and Good Charlotte among others, are helping MTV Networks International to generate attention for MTV Switch, a major climate change campaign aimed at slowing down the rate of global warming by encouraging their viewers to lower their carbon emissions and help save the planet.
The campaign is designed to reach an audience of 1.5 billion people world wide across the MTV network of 55 local TV channels in 162 countries. Among others, a “green” Pimp My Ride special will air and also Nickelodeon will participate by showing kids what they can do to help decrease their family’s energy consumption.
MTV produced PSA s (Public Service Anouncements) to connect with the audiences and show them how they can help lower their energy emission. The PSAs can be used by all other broadcasters free of costs and rights to serve this cause. The campaign will encourage people to visit the yet to launch MTV Switch web site.
