Shaggy and Bruck Up will perform their cool Sunglasses a.k.a. Keep Ya Shades On single live in the studio of Good Day New York this morning between 7 and 10 AM on WNYW/FOX5! More info.

Update: Bruck Up, Shaggy and Rayvon were just on! They were all sharply dressed and wearing sunglasses. Shaggy talked about his time in the Marines, Bruck Up spoke about his Jamaican background, Bruck Up and Shaggy performed their hot new single Sunglasses a.k.a. Shakti Love Fest photos
A lot of photos of the Shakti Love Fest are online! The Shakti Love Fest is a charity event that was organized on October 3 in association with the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation for the benefit of the Bustamente Hospital for Children. You can view the first part of the photos of the Shakti Love Fest (Shaggy is on page 2 and 3) here and a five-page photo gallery of the Shakti Love Fest Launch on Facebook!

Wanna take a look in Shaggy´s Big Yard music studio in Jamaica, watch interviews and hear a lot of cool music? MTV Japan did a documentary about Shaggy in Jamaica. Shaggy talks about his origins in Rae Town, Kingston, his music from the Ruff Entry Crew, his situation with different record companies until Church Heathen and Intoxication (which was being released when this video documentary was made) and you get to take a look in his house and his studio. Bob Marley’s studio is also featured in the video. The music in the video is among others Big Up (live), Boombastic, Luv Me Luv Me, Why Must She Treat You So Bad, Angel, It Wasn’t Me, Wild 2Nite, More Woman, Woman Scorned, What’s Love, Reggae Vibes and the rare Call Me Up!

Big Yard´s manager and producer Robert Livingston also talks about Shaggy and how their collaboration came about. He says Shaggy’s one of the greatest artist he’s ever met. Fellow artists Chuck Fender, Blacker, General Degree, Christopher Martin and Voicemail also speak about Shaggy. Shaggy made a special Church Heathen and Call Me Up dubplate for MTV Japan as well. Shaggy has been nominated for a Hype TV Music Award for his collab with Rik Rok on Bonafide Girl in the category Best Collaboration. He’s also up for a Grammy Award in the category Best Reggae Album for his new album Intoxication. Also, Shaggy has been nominated for a RETV MVP (Reggae Music Entertainment Television My Video Pic) Award for Video of the Year, Best Reggae Video and Best Music Video (Male) for Bad Man Don’t Cry. Tour updates: Cayman Islands, Dubai UAE, Miami, Australia and New Zealand
Shaggy is heading to Australia and New Zealand to perform on the Raggamuffin Festival 2009, after he performed on the Issimo Live Music Fusion Concert Series with Maxi Priest and Snow and after he attended Jazzy T’s Birthday Bash on West Palm Beach, Miami on Sunday, January 18, with Ce’Cile, Christopher Martin, Usain Bolt and more. Shaggy also attended Jamrock Magazine’s Jam with Squeeze party in New York on January 9. Jamrock Magazine has two photos.

Dubai, UAE concert and tickets info
On February 12, Shaggy will perform at Dubai Festival City in Dubai, UAE. The Boombastic Beats – Shaggy live in concert show starts at 18:30 or 20:30h and is part of the big Dubai Shopping Festival 2009. More information: Zawya, Dubai Chronicle and the official DSF site.

Happy New Year!

The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert for the Bustamente Hospital for Children was a huge success! The number of people who came to view the show that took place on the lawn of Jamaica House on January 3 was very high. Artists who attended were among others Shaggy, Rik Rok, Rayvon, Na’Sha, Barrington Levy, Elephant Man, Macy Gray, D’Angel, Etana, Buju Banton, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Tony Rebel, Tarrus Riley, Sean Paul, Allison Hinds, Ce’Cile, Christopher Martin, Marcia Griffiths, Da’Ville, Milk, Usain Bolt, Ity and Fancy Cat, Dean Fraser, Morgan Heritage and Lady Saw.
